There are tattoo artists who build their careers by perfecting a recognizable category. Then there are artists who spend years avoiding categories altogether. Jay Freestyle belongs to the second group. Based in Edmonton, Canada, Jay has been tattooing for around 20 years. His journey began far from Canada, in Amsterdam, where he lived and worked for about 15 years. Before tattooing, he entered the world of body modification through piercing - a path that eventually led him toward tattooing almost by accident.
